Oct 26 to Nov 3, 2014 Hawaii Trip Log

This page has links to a few videos (and some snap shots) we took while on our October 2014 trip to Hawaii (the “Big Island”).

Sun Oct 26 – Day 1 of our trip was our flights from YVR to LAX and on to KOA.

Nothing much happened except that our flight from LAX to KOA almost got postponed due to “equipment issues”.

Then we almost had to divert to Honolulu when someone took out the power around Kona and the airport by smacking

their car into a power pole.

But we managed to land (it was a HARD landing also) and get our rental car (in the dark) before checking in at the resort. Fun, fun.

Mon Oct 27 – Our second day was spent exploring the sights in and around Kona. And we hit the grocery store for “provisions”.

Tue Oct 28 – On our third day we headed south and east…

We explored some ruins, Chuck snorkels for a while, we hit a great bakery for lunch as we explored down south to Volcanoes National Park.

After that we check out Hilo for dinner on the east side. Then we drove back to Kona (over the “hump”) for the night.

Wed Oct 29 – We explored the northern areas of the island, including a $180 per couple dinner and entertainment at a local “ranch”.

Thu Oct 30 – We headed back south to focus more of our time on the Volcanoes National Park area again.

It takes at least 2 to 3 days to see it all.

Fri Oct 31 – Next we drove N, NE and then SE to check out more towns, canyons, waterfalls, and a Tsunami Museum in Hilo.

Then back to Kona for dinner at the Outback Steakhouse on Halloween evening.

Sat Nov 01 – This was our R&R day.

Chuck ended up with a sinus infection the past couple days, which he probably got from the sea water he inhaled while snorkeling a few

days before. So we decided to just bum around the condo until dinner time. Then we headed to downtown Kona for dinner out at Bongo Ben’s…

Sun Nov 02 – This was our last full day in Hawaii, so we headed back to Volcanoes National Park for one last hike.

This was the last thing to do on our Hawaii Vacation “bucket list”.

This is a must see video if you like bloody Halloween type movies.
